She is in desperate need of some friends, and she's got some secrets in her past that are bound to come out in a town like this. • she is French
• she was born and raised in Lyon, but has spent years in both London and Paris
• She is an accomplished pianist
• and an amateurish photographer; good enough to be paid, but it's more of a hobby
• she will be working at the Quill if possible
• she has a serious mistrust for all things magic

So exciting! (So much so that I am trying to comment on my iPod and it usually goes wrong). Mostly I just look forward to stalking Coop and her threads. But obviously there is the Coop connection.

I assume they both know of each other, (I imagine Coop told Owen a lot about her at the time so he would know some stuff.) I don't mind how much/little you want her to know about Owen. Considering Owen has never left America, I doubt they've met in person. So really I just want to know what terms you want their past relationship to be like?

Owen would have liked her because she made Coop happy. And thusly why he'd dislike her now. Although not with any maliciousness, more in an exasperated at her return way.

Anyway, so I waffle. Hope it all makes sense!

So I've stalked both Owen's and Coop's journals a lot today to try and get an idea of the background and the times you guys spoke about her so help me if I'm in the dark with anything 8)

I would doubt they've met in person as she's only just coming to America now, having spent the rest of her life between the UK and Europe. I'm not 100% sure on Coop's life originally back in SC, but him and Owen were always still close even after high school, right? So I'm sure she's heard plenty of stories.

When they meet, I see it as a kind of, 'oh you're this person I've heard so much about and who is Coop's other half' kind of thing only a little ruined due to her bailing on him. Maybe if either of them forgive her they can be friends haha

I forgot! The one thing I was really curious about was whether Coop has talked to Owen much about her since the break up. Because I've seen Coop's thinky tags but nothing vocalised? Like, obviously he would know they broke up, I'm just wondering how much detail etc.

Ah, I apologise for how useless Owen's journal is for anything pre-crash, (which was way after Coop and Sylvie split. I think I've established that he was only just meeting Abi when Coop/Sylvie split). Outside of escorting though, he didn't do anything greatly weird or unusual during that time.

I don't think Erika and I have ever truly 'sat' and hashed out the full Owen and Coop timeline. But my personal belief is that they met when Coop joined the football team and have been really close ever since. (I don't know when in that time they started dating, but I feel they split some time in Owen's senior year.) So they'd have probably Skype'd every now and again when Coop was in Europe. Maybe a casual "Hi Sylvie! You're doing well putting up with this guy." was called when Owen knew she was in the same room as Coop.

I think they could be friends on a long term scale. Owen doesn't dislike her for any reason other than she broke Coop's heart. But generally Owen is quite laid back. He's definitely on the *Sigh* "I just don't want you to hurt him again," route than the, "How dare you show up after all this time!"

Ummmm. I don't know. I will have to check with Erika. Part of me says Owen only knows the bare essentials, the other part of me says he knows every little thing. Either way, I feel Owen and Coop probably both tried to take the 'plenty more fish in the sea' approach to it after the initial shock of it all.

That sounds good! So they would know what each other look like from pictures and skype and maybe have exchanged a few words but haven't really met.

It's going to be hard for them all at first haha but I do think they would make good friends once everyone gets over the betrayal of it all. And she doesn't want to hurt him again so we cool

PLUS JOEL CAN SPEAK FRENCH! It's Eastern Canadian French, which is a little different than Parisian French, but close enough that they'd be able to converse and he'd be very excited about that because he's a giant dork.

OKAY so just basic headcanon info, I guess. Coop left Paris almost immediately after Sylvie left him, and I would say their closest mutual friends there would have known what happened and he would have told Owen about it on a night he was particularly blasted. He told Joel on the island that he'd been engaged once, but he didn't tell him her name, just that it had been a thing that obviously didn't work out. Genevieve's family so she'd know about what happened just through family grapevine, probs, but he hasn't talked about her to anyone else because it's just too hard for him. Plus, it's not buddies to talk about an ex-fiance to the 539820532 people he's banging :D
