The thing about it all is that the more time she spends here, the more she starts to get it. She's done a lot of reading, and she's spoken to Raleigh about it in depth, and maybe she's starting to understand. Magic to people in this town is part of who they are, and she's starting to learn that maybe it's not all awful. She can't imagine anyone telling her she can never play piano again, and it's weird as comparisons go, but it's the way she rationalises it. She can't ask him to stop being a witch, and she's starting to realise she doesn't want to. Raleigh has told her all the good things he's been able to do with it, had promised her on Coop's behalf that he would look out for her, for everyone here. It's a lot for her to change, a mindset of 6 years in the making, but she is trying.

"I know that," she starts. "I've seen some good, too." She's also had her entire memory wiped and had it replaced with something not real since she got here, but she doesn't like to think about that if she can avoid it. "I just thought if anyone would know how to help, it would be you." She doesn't know the extent of his powers, how it works, but she knows he's her best bet.
